I’m Kenya Moses and I am the founder and principal health and fitness coach of Be A Fit Mama, Inc., and a transformative life and wellness coach. It is my mission to share my extensive health and fitness knowledge and experience by working with women to help you become a healthier, more energetic and happier woman.When I work with clients, I simply do one thing; extremely well. I help them to see themselves clearly and help them plan and accomplish goals, while honoring their power and create magic in their lives.
My Story
Health and fitness has always been a large part of my life. From a very young age I was active in dance and sports, which provided me with the foundation for living a healthy lifestyle. And although I was physically active all through my years, I still found it difficult to maintain a healthy weight where I felt my best and most confident. I toggled with my weight all through my adolescent, teen and adult years, not understanding that my inability to keep my weight in a healthy range was not only due to genetic barriers (the majority of the women in my family were overweight or obese), but because I didn’t really understand that what I was putting into my body wasn’t always nourishing me.
In my late teens my grandmother was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure, which became an eye opener to the effects of poor eating habits. I recognized that a sedentary, high fat, processed food diet was not an option if I wanted to look and feel my absolute best. So during my undergraduate years in college I decided to study and obtain a certificate in personal training. If I was going to make life-long changes to my diet, I wanted to be an expert and learn everything I possibly could. As I continued my college education, I also continued learning more about various nutrition and fitness modalities and began working with men and women. I knew then that health and fitness was forever going to be a big part of my life.
After the birth of my first child I recognized that there were so many of my friends who were concerned about losing the baby weight after having a child or just had concerns about their bodies as women. Although I worked in the corporate finance industry for some time, I continued working with training clients and began to grow my practice. The concerns around health and fitness of women and mothers became increasingly noticeable and shortly after my second was born, Be A Fit Mama was created.
Be A Fit Mama has been offering health and fitness coaching to women throughout the Bay Area since 2009 and is now recognized as one of the top personal training businesses in the area. In addition to my expertise in women’s fitness; I am also a transformative life and wellness coach (kenyamoses.com), a professional dancer, classical vocalist; and of course a mother of two beautiful boys. I feel so special to have worked with hundreds of women throughout the years and know I have found my true passion in empowering women through health and fitness.
