_MG_5572There is no one size fits all method to losing weight and feeling great, but there are some must-dos in any program to encourage success. Here are 10 tips to help you on your journey to getting fit and looking and feeling younger.
1.Eat first thing in the morning and small meals every 2-3 hours thereafter: Eating small meals every 3 hours will increase your metabolism and reduce fat storage.

2.Start a low intensity cardiovascular system: Cardiovascular training is anything that gets your heart pumping at an elevated speed. This includes walking, jogging, bike riding, swimming, playing sports, roller skating.. Cardiovascular training is used to burn calories and to improve your overall conditioning.

3.Add some Resistance: Resistance training is anything that gives resistance against your muscles. The most traditional resistance training is dumbbells or barbells, but it can take on many other forms as well. Using your own body weight is another way to give your muscles resistance.

4.Stretch, stretch, stretch!: Stretching improves flexibility, blood flow, muscle recovery, low back pain and can prevent injury, as well as make you sleep better.

5.Stop doing Sit-ups!: Well traditional ones anyway…Sit-ups can lead to a strained lower back and possibly lumbar injuries. Rather than hitting your abdominal section, sit-ups can shift exercise tension to your hip flexors – which defeats the purpose. Work on abdominal exercises such as variations on site specific crunches to work the mid-section.

6.Drink water, stay hydrated: Consume 6-8 8 oz, glasses of water per day. Drink a large glass of water before every meal. It may seem like a chore, but drinking a large glass of water before eating is a great way to partially fill you up and prevent you from overeating.

7.Never Skip Breakfast: In fact, if you want to maximize your fitness results or fat-loss efforts, you’ve got to eat breakfast. Even if you don’t exercise at all – breakfast remains the most important meal of the day.

8.No more late night eating: The easiest way to effortlessly lose weight is to not eat three hours before bed. It has been proven that not eating three hours before bed reduces fat storage throughout the night.

9.Stop eating Fat Free Foods!: Fat free foods, when eaten in excess, will still be stored as fat! Fat free cookies and crackers are made up of a whole lot of SUGAR! Yep, the secret is out! Sugar is just as fattening of a substance than fat itself, when eaten in excess.

10.Drink a glass of cold water every night right before you get into bed: Your body will have to heat this water up to your body’s temperature of 98 degrees, and it will have to burn a few calories in the process! This sets your body up to burn calories as you sleep! When you make this 5 second activity a habit, you will be excited to find yourself losing weight easier than ever before.
