The one thing that every mama understands is stress. Our jobs as Jill of All Trades forces us into a position where taking time for ourselves is next to impossible; and the thought of having to do a cardio workout is even more daunting. But guess what? There are some benefits to taking that time out for yourself and working that cardio: Stress Relief!
According to a study published in the journal Psychophysiology, women who participated in aerobic and resistance training activities have systolic blood pressures that those who do not.
Because aerobic training can lower heart rate response to psychological stress, it may offer a protective benefit over the long term against an increase in the risk of coronary heart disease.
So ladies, the next time you feel ho-hum about working that cardio; remember: a happy heart makes a happy mama!
