be a fit mama clean eating detoxEmbarking in a simple nutritional cleanse on a yearly, half-yearly or even quarterly basis is a great way to clean out the system, gain more clarity, regulate digestion and increase overall energy. There are hundreds of detox programs on the market today in the shape of pills, shakes and complete nutrition programs. Not are all safe and have your best interest at heart, so it is important to complete due-diligence before starting any program. I would not suggest starting a detox program with the goal of weight loss as a motivator… It is true you can potentially lose a couple to a few pounds while on a detox, but the most important result of a safe cleanse is in it’s ability to flush out impurities in the body and hopefully provide you with a new appreciation for eating healthy foods.

Personally, I choose to cleanse my body for 1-week on a quarterly basis. I typically start during the first two weeks of the New Year, again in April, June and September. I call my detox the Be A Fit Mama Clean Eating Detox, because it’s exactly what it sounds like: Clean Eating. So now that it is January of the new year, it is time for me to embark on my first cleanse of the year. Over the course of the next week, I will share with you my experience, the process and hopefully provide you with valuable insight should you decide to incorporate a clean eating detox/cleanse into your life.
