Why You're StuckHere we are in the month of March and time is continuing to move forward. This is the time of year where those health and fitness goals set back in January are put to the test. Where are you with your goals? Most likely you are at one of three stages: 1. Moving steadily forward 2. Gave up a while ago or 3. STUCK! - Well, no matter where you are in your journey, you will inevitably encounter the dreaded feelings of being Stuck; where you feel you’ve reached a plateau, movement has ceased and you may not know how and when the next step will happen. It may feel as though you won’t get through this period, but you can, and will if you allow yourself to remember the following things:

  1. Being “stuck” is a perception. What part of your thinking is focused on the “what-ifs” and negative possibilities?
  2. Are you operating on unexamined preconceived notions? Such as, assuming you won’t lose weight because excess belly fat runs in the family?
  3. How often do you allow yourself to enjoy the process of changing your health and fitness? The more you engage in activities that feel good to you, the more likely you will continue on your journey and successfully reach your goals. Don’t go at it alone! Work out with a friend(s), make meals with your partner and family, or hire a professional to motivate and support you :-)

If you keep these 3 things in mind, you might just get past those periods of stagnation. Trust yourself and your ability to make the changes you desire, and there is no way you won’t succeed!
