Recently I shared with you a free call, 7 Ways to Increase Your Motivation, and it was a ton of fun! I decided that for those who were unable to attend the live call or miss the reply, I would offer the transcripts for you here in the blog. This week I share with you the first two steps. Enjoy!

(Transcripts: Taken from the Live Call with Kenya Moses, 7 Ways to Increase Your Motivation…on September 10, 2025)7 Ways to Increase Motivation

“Hello, and welcome! My name is Kenya Moses, a fitness and wellness coach, life coach, mother of two little boys, and I am absolutely excited to have you all on the call today! Todays teleseminar will be about 60 minutes, and its called “7 ways to increase your motivation and integrate fitness & healthful eating into your daily life”. My goal is that by the end of this call you will have gained some insight as to why you are where you are currently in your health and fitness journey and leave with some solid tips to get you back on track, build your motivation and just feel inspired to go for it. Towards the end of our call, I will open up the chat lines for your questions…so with that said; let’s get started!”

2. Intention setting

Meditation-leaf“I like to start my sessions with a brief intention setting. Whenever we find ourselves going into a learning or receptive environment, it’s always good to have clear intentions on what it is we want to get out of it. Clearly, the mere fact that you are joining me today, or listening to this as a recording is that you are in search of something. So take a moment. Taking a deep breath in through the nose and exhaling through the mouth….let your intention come to you naturally. If you have a pen and paper, write it down and hold on to it through the remainder of the call. Whether its to grab onto one tip and begin integrating it into your lifestyle, or even if its just actually sitting through the entire call, because it took a great deal of energy to actually Get yourself here…There’s no right or wrong.”

3. 3 questions

“Now, if you still have that pen and paper, I’m going to ask you 3 questions. You can jot down your answers as I ask them, and then I just want you to hold onto them. There are no right or wrong answers to these questions and no one else will see these except you. So be clear, and be honest.

- what are your dreams?

- do you believe you are capable of reaching your goals?

- are you open to receive?

4. Tips

Great. Now let us move onto our 7 tips for motivating ourselves along our health fitness journey. But write down the ones that resonate the most with you.

#1 set your intention

In the start of our call I had you set an intention. An intention is defined as “an aim or plan”, but can also be defined as “the healing process of a wound”. So when I think of setting an intention, I think of it as an aim to heal a part of our life that no longer serves us. So in using the example of losing weight or eating more healthfully, we can set an intention on “healing the need to overeat, and to engage the body in ways that feel great and are enjoyable and conducive to creating changes for the betterment of the body.” See how this is different than making a goal? A goal typically is very concrete. I want to lose 10 pounds. I want to eat more greens. Now these are nice goals to have, but before you can create a goal, you kinda need to know how you want the process to go…

#2 make a commitment

“Now, I know what you’re probably thinking…I’ve made so many New Years resolutions, and haven’t kept any. Well, my idea of making a commitment is not the same as jumping on the New Years bandwagon. Granted resolutions work for some people, but for most, a resolution often leads only to frustration and disappointment. I don’t know how many times Ive set myself up for failure setting a new years resolution, only to give up in the first week or two…So making a commitment is basically setting your intention, solidifying goals and putting it to paper. Yes. That means writing out a contract for yourself about what it is you want, how you want to feel when you get it and when you want to get it.
